BREAKFAST WITH SANTA & THE gRINCH!

The true meaning of Christmas isn't in a tree or a box! It isn't in Santa, the Grinch, or other characters. For us, we understand that Christmas is in Christ and Christ alone. We also know that children love children's stories. We use these characters to reach into our world and tell the children and parents the true meaning of Christ and maybe like the Grinch we will think, "And the Grinch, with his Grinch feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled, 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store? What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more! And what happened then? Well, in Whoville they say, that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day!"  So, as you look at the photos of this amazing event, think to yourself, "What is Christmas to me, is it ribbons, boxes, and bags? Or is Christmas found in packages decorated with paper and bows? What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more? Christmas Shoe Box Packing Party!

From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world. Parents often use the project to teach their kids about giving. Year-round volunteers support these efforts across the country.  Penia Baptist Church collects items throughout the year. These items are used in the Annual Christmas Shoe Box Packing Party on the first Sunday of November. Other Churches and groups of all sizes collect Boxes from their communities. Some churches also serve as drop-off locations for shoeboxes the third week of November every year. Thousands of volunteers serve annually inspecting and preparing shoeboxes for international shipping. Every hour work stops for a few minutes to pray for the children receiving the boxes. Long before shoeboxes arrive in more than 100 countries, volunteer National Leadership Teams train pastors and community leaders who want to share the message of the Gospel and bless children. The leaders learn how to host child-friendly outreach events, and how to implement The Greatest Journey follow-up discipleship program. Pastors around the world host outreach events in places where people may not know Christ and invite them to follow Him. Other churches use the boxes as resources for outreach in orphanages and other at-risk areas. In many places, they also offer The Greatest Gift, a Gospel story booklet Samaritan’s Purse developed for shoebox recipients, and invite children to participate in The Greatest Journey discipleship program. As a result of what they learn in The Greatest Journey, boys and girls grow in Christ and share with friends and family. The students also invite others to their graduations where the Gospel is shared. This often brings parents, siblings, and friends to accept Christ and become active members of the local church. Families are reached, churches grow, new churches are started, and communities are transformed. FALL FESTIVAL 2023!

This year (2023) our Fall Festival was the best ever! We had just over 500 people come through our property to enjoy fun, food, and games. We had jump houses, putt putt, trunks full of treats, a cake walk, bingo, and so much more! We had food, funnel cakes, boiled peanuts, hotdogs, corndogs, snow cones, cotton candy and lemonade! It was amazing! We do this each year because we know that in a lost and dying world, everyone needs to hear about Jesus, so we design this to take advantage of an already existing community event. Each year we see hundreds if not thousands of children, going door to door, to total strangers' houses asking for candy. This is an ever increasingly dangers time. So, we look to provide a safe, fun, family friendly environment for them. And yes, we intentionally do this so they will hear the name of Jesus spoken with love and compassion. We want them to know that they are welcome in Church, that church is a fun place, that church is a safe place, and that church is a place where people care about them. And we let the parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles, brothers and sisters know that we care about the children and families in our community! We hope you enjoy the pictures!
